Sometimes customers aren\u2019t happy with their purchase and they\u2019ll be looking for an exchange. Perhaps the item they ordered was too small or perhaps the color was wrong. The best way to complete this is to refund the original purchase and then offer them store credit to order a replacement.<\/p>\n
Using this method, you\u2019ll be able to:<\/p>\n
So, here\u2019s how to make an exchange via store credit.
\n
Log into your store using your Shopify credentials.<\/p>\n
Go to your \u2018Orders\u2019 screen and then click on the customer order which you need to make the exchange for. Once inside, click on \u2018Refund Order\u2019.<\/p>\n
Find the product within the order that needs to be returned and then using \u2018+\u2019 and \u2018-\u2019 buttons, enter in the number that needs to be returned by the customer.<\/p>\n
If the products are due to be returned to you, you should click on the \u2018Restock\u2019 options.<\/p>\n
Enable the \u2018Issue Store Credit\u2019 option and then click on the \u2018Refund\u2019 button. The \u2018Refund Payment\u2019 window will display. Check the amount in the box is the right amount agreed with the customer or is applicable.<\/p>\n
If the customer wants to exchange products that aren\u2019t the same, you can either collect the remaining balance from the customer at the checkout or you can refund the remaining balance to the original payment method.<\/p>\n
Now you can click on the \u2018Done\u2019 option.<\/p>\n
Now you can create a new order for the exchange items. Remember to click on the \u2018Payment\u2019 tab and click on \u2018Store Credit\u2019.<\/p>\n
