Not every store should have the checkout language in English, the default of Shopify. If you have any product sold on your online store, you can get the checkout translated to whichever language you would like. This allows you to have your website in the language of your customers and main audience, giving them a better experience.<\/p>\n
There are lots of ways to do this. You can use some\u00a0multilingual apps, translation apps and by translating the checkout fields individually.<\/p>\n
Or, you can edit your theme to make it read in the preferred language. This is easier if your theme has translations that are already written into them. This article gives you the detailed instructions on how you can achieve this.<\/p>\n
The first step is to log in to your Shopify store.<\/p>\n
From the Shopify dashboard, you need to head over to the \u2018Settings\u2019 field that is located in the bottom right. From the \u2018Settings\u2019 page, you should visit the \u2018Checkout\u2019 page.<\/p>\n
When on the \u2018Checkout\u2019 management page, you should scroll down to the bottom of the page. There you will find the \u2018Checkout Language\u2019 section. You can click on the option that reads \u2018Manage Checkout Language\u2019.<\/p>\n
Under the headline \u2018Language (XXXXXX)\u2019 where XXXXXX is the current language, you can click on the \u2018Change Theme Language\u2019.<\/p>\n
You can then select the new language from the dialogue popup that appears on the screen. Be sure that you change the language into the right one. If you make a mistake, it can damage conversions on your website before you realize.<\/p>\n
When you\u2019ve made the change, you might want to do a test purchase to just check.<\/p>\n
When you\u2019ve completed the selection of the language, click on the \u2018Save\u2019 option. This is when you can run a test of the changes.<\/p>\n
If your language isn\u2019t available on the list, then you might need to use a translation app. There are numerous multilingual apps, including this one here.
