It reads as tidy rather than distinctive, which suited the many first-time stores that started on it. Next to a current Online Store 2.0 theme, though, the design shows its age: the section structure is more fixed, the spacing is tighter, and the styling options are thinner than merchants now expect.<\/p>\n<p>The layout is responsive and holds together on mobile, and the typographic style stays out of the way of your products. What you do not get is the flexible, block-by-block editing that lets you reorder and restyle a homepage without code. On Debut, the structure you start with is largely the structure you keep.<\/p>\n<h2>Debut\u2019s Features<\/h2>\n<h3>Homepage and Content Sections<\/h3>\n<p>Debut ships with the building blocks a simple store needs: a slideshow, featured products and collections, a rich-text block, a newsletter signup, a map, and a testimonials area. They cover the basics well. The limitation is that these sections sit in a more rigid arrangement than Online Store 2.0 themes allow, so deep homepage customization usually means editing the theme code or adding a page-builder app.<\/p>\n<h3>Product Pages<\/h3>\n<p>Product pages are straightforward, with image zoom, variant selectors, and a related-products area. They present a catalog cleanly. What they lack is anything native for reviews, upsells, or bundles, so stores that want those elements add them through apps rather than theme settings.<\/p>\n<h3>Navigation and Filtering<\/h3>\n<p>Debut supports dropdown menus, a search field, and sidebar collection filtering by product tag. For small to mid-size catalogs that is enough to keep browsing simple. Very large catalogs that need faceted filtering will feel the ceiling here, since the tag-based approach is basic compared with modern filtering.<\/p>\n<h2>How Fast Is Debut Today?<\/h2>\n<p>Surprisingly well.
