Across 84 real Booster stores, 42.9% pass Google’s Core Web Vitals (median LCP 2.1s). Filtered to stores running only a few apps, that rises to 50%, isolating the theme’s own speed from the apps merchants pile on.
Booster sits at the far conversion end of the Shopify theme market. It ships pre-loaded with what most stores add through apps later: upsells, cross-sells, sticky add-to-cart, trust badges, currency switching, and urgency and scarcity cues. It was built for merchants who treat every product page as a landing page and want the persuasion levers baked into the theme itself.
The stores that pick it skew large. They tilt toward long catalogs, heavy import, and dropship-style operations where the theme has to hold up under thousands of SKUs and a shopper who is being nudged toward a purchase on almost every scroll. Booster is a paid theme sold direct rather than through the Shopify Theme Store, which is part of why its footprint in our dataset doesn't line up with Shopify's own top-theme rankings.
Where it fits: Booster is a conversion theme, not a design-first theme. It fits naturally on stores that live and die by product-page performance. A merchant who would rather tune baked-in features than stack a separate upsell app, countdown app, and trust-badge app is the target buyer.
The trade-off: What the theme does for you out of the box has to be managed by you inside the theme. When Booster ships an update, those features move with the theme, not with an app you can pin to a version. Stores that want to swap features one at a time usually prefer a plainer theme paired with targeted apps.
Ideal store: Larger catalogs, aggressive product-page merchandising, and paid traffic that lands cold on a PDP and needs the persuasion built in. General dropship catalogs, gadget stores, fashion at scale, and single-hero-product funnels are the natural fits.
Before you commit: Booster does more on the page than a bare Dawn install, and it costs more page weight in return. Test it on your real product data and with your real ad-traffic sources before switching a live store. The features that make it convert are the same ones a merchant has to keep from stepping on each other.

This figure comes from live detection: we scan Shopify storefronts and read the active theme each one runs, then express it as a share of the 3,500,000+ stores in our dataset. It is a share of every store in our dataset, not just recently scanned stores, so it moves more slowly than the month-over-month figures on our trends page. We report what is currently detected, not historical installs or Theme Store / App Store counts.
Independent by design: rankings are determined solely by live detection data. Affiliate relationships never affect what ranks or how stores are counted. Read the full methodology →
