Across 90 real Combine stores, 75.9% pass Google’s Core Web Vitals (median LCP 1.8s). Filtered to stores running only a few apps, that rises to 95.5%, isolating the theme’s own speed from the apps merchants pile on.
Combine is a paid Shopify theme from Krown Themes, sold as five preset styles under a single license. It leans functional over editorial: rows of products, faceted collection filtering, and section templates built to carry hundreds of SKUs rather than a lookbook of thirty.
The theme's own code runs fast on real Shopify traffic, though the picture changes with the app stack: stores that keep Combine near its default footprint pass Core Web Vitals at a rate well above the site-wide average, while stores that pile on apps lose most of that edge. The live speed card below breaks the split down.
Where it fits
Combine sits comfortably on home-goods, furniture, homeware and kitchen stores, and on general large-catalog merchants who need to move visitors from a broad collection to a specific SKU without a long browse. The five presets shift the visual accent (warmer, cooler, denser) without changing the underlying structure, so a store gets stylistic range without giving up the catalog-first bones.
The trade-off
One paid license covers the theme and every preset, which keeps the ongoing cost predictable, and Combine's built-in filtering and layout options reduce the pull toward extra apps. In return, the design is opinionated in the opposite direction from a fashion theme: sections and defaults assume a large catalog with faceted collections. Stores selling a small edit of hero pieces on strong imagery will feel the theme underused and slightly generic.
Ideal store
Home-goods, furniture, kitchen and homeware merchants with meaningful SKU depth (roughly 200 through several thousand). Also a fit for general merchandise, tools and hobby stores where discoverability and filtering matter more than a magazine feel. Smaller edits with fewer than a hundred SKUs get better use out of a lighter, editorial theme; the Combine layout will look empty and its filtering value will be wasted.
Before you commit
Preview each of the five presets against your own product photography and category structure, not the demo, and specifically stress-test the mobile collection filter, since that is where a large-catalog theme earns its keep. Then look at your existing app stack: the live speed card below shows Combine's own code is quick, but real stores that stack apps around it lose most of that gain. Plan on either shipping a lean stack or pruning before launch, so a fast theme is not turned slow by the extras.

This figure comes from live detection: we scan Shopify storefronts and read the active theme each one runs, then express it as a share of the 3,500,000+ stores in our dataset. It is a share of every store in our dataset, not just recently scanned stores, so it moves more slowly than the month-over-month figures on our trends page. We report what is currently detected, not historical installs or Theme Store / App Store counts.
Independent by design: rankings are determined solely by live detection data. Affiliate relationships never affect what ranks or how stores are counted. Read the full methodology →
