Across 72 real Ignite stores, 72.1% pass Google’s Core Web Vitals (median LCP 1.7s). Filtered to stores running only a few apps, that rises to 79.4%, isolating the theme’s own speed from the apps merchants pile on.
Ignite is a paid theme from Benchmark Themes, sold on the Shopify Theme Store as a single-license purchase. It ships with five preset designs (Ignite, Playtime, Tails, Alpha and Peak) that cover different visual directions, from playful and kid-friendly to rugged and outdoor. That preset spread is the point of the theme: one purchase, several distinct looks, without needing a developer to reskin the core template.
In our Shopify dataset, Ignite sits outside the widest-adopted themes but carries a distinctive fingerprint. Stores using it run notably larger catalogs than the dataset average, and their app stacks stay roughly typical. The theme itself is doing more of the heavy lifting on merchandising. That fits a store that leans on Ignite's built-in section library, mega menu, quick view and product filters, and buys less of that functionality through extra apps.
Where it fits. A merchant who wants one paid theme to serve several different-looking storefronts, without commissioning a full custom build. The five presets do most of the design work up front. Whether the store sells gifts, apparel, pet or outdoor gear, one preset will start closer to the final look than a generic free theme would. Colors, fonts and section content are then adjusted from the theme editor.
The trade-off. Ignite is a paid theme, so the outlay is up front rather than spread across app subscriptions. In return you get a single license, no ongoing theme fee, and a deep section library. A lot of merchandising can happen without add-ons. What you give up is Shopify's free tier and the free-theme upgrade path. Paid themes update through Benchmark, not the free-theme catalog, so refreshes come at their pace.
Ideal store. A retailer with a real catalog to merchandise, wanting mega menus, filters, quick view and back-in-stock alerts baked into the theme instead of stacked from apps. Multi-category stores are a natural fit. The presets read differently enough to pick one that matches your vertical, whether that is toys, apparel, pet or outdoor.
Before you commit. Test each preset on a development store first. The five preset designs share the same underlying template, but each is tuned enough that the one you pick shapes how your homepage, product page and collection page feel. Also check your current app stack. Ignite covers filters, swatches, quick view and mega menu natively, which usually lets you drop one or two overlapping apps. That is where the pricing math starts to work in the theme's favor.

This figure comes from live detection: we scan Shopify storefronts and read the active theme each one runs, then express it as a share of the 3,500,000+ stores in our dataset. It is a share of every store in our dataset, not just recently scanned stores, so it moves more slowly than the month-over-month figures on our trends page. We report what is currently detected, not historical installs or Theme Store / App Store counts.
Independent by design: rankings are determined solely by live detection data. Affiliate relationships never affect what ranks or how stores are counted. Read the full methodology →
