Across 67 real Umino stores, 43.6% pass Google’s Core Web Vitals (median LCP 2.3s). Filtered to stores running only a few apps, that rises to 48.5%, isolating the theme’s own speed from the apps merchants pile on.
Umino is a multipurpose Shopify theme sold on ThemeForest, built on Online Store 2.0 by an outside developer rather than one of Shopify's own theme partners. It sits outside our list of the most-installed Shopify themes. It does show up, though, across a small international slice of our dataset that other multipurpose themes rarely reach, helped by native right-to-left support for Arabic and Hebrew stores.
Stores using Umino tend to run large catalogs and lean on the theme's built-in features instead of stacking extra apps. That mix, many products with few add-ons, is the fingerprint of a general-retail or dropshipping setup, and it matches how ThemeForest sells the theme in the first place.
Where it fits. Multipurpose retail stores that need one theme to cover several store types, and merchants who need RTL layouts for Arabic or Hebrew customers. It is a decent fit when a Theme Store option like Dawn or Sense would need heavy customization to reach the same look.
The trade-off. Umino ships on ThemeForest, not the Shopify Theme Store. You get a one-time license instead of a paid upgrade path, but you also give up Shopify's vetting and the theme-store update flow. Support runs through the developer, not Shopify, and moving to a newer Umino release is a manual reinstall.
Ideal store. A merchant with a broad catalog who wants a themed look out of the box rather than paying a developer to build one, and who prefers a single license over subscription fees. It suits fashion, electronics and general-retail stores, and specifically stores serving right-to-left markets where Theme Store coverage thins out.
Before you commit. Test the demo you plan to use on a development store first, since Umino's multipurpose designs vary a lot between homepages. Confirm the version you buy is current and that the developer is still shipping updates, because ThemeForest theme age matters. And weigh it against a Theme Store theme you can trial for free, since a paid ThemeForest license is non-refundable once the license key is claimed.

This figure comes from live detection: we scan Shopify storefronts and read the active theme each one runs, then express it as a share of the 3,500,000+ stores in our dataset. It is a share of every store in our dataset, not just recently scanned stores, so it moves more slowly than the month-over-month figures on our trends page. We report what is currently detected, not historical installs or Theme Store / App Store counts.
Independent by design: rankings are determined solely by live detection data. Affiliate relationships never affect what ranks or how stores are counted. Read the full methodology →
