Okendo is a customer marketing platform built around reviews. It started as a reviews and user-generated-content tool and grew into a suite that also covers loyalty, referrals, quizzes, and surveys, all meant to turn one-time buyers into repeat customers. It is aimed at growing and established DTC brands rather than a store's first week, which shows in our data: the stores running it tend to be more mature, with larger app stacks and premium themes. If reviews and retention are central to how you sell, Okendo is one of the more complete options.
The reviews core is the strongest part. Okendo collects photo and video reviews through post-purchase emails, then displays them with AI summaries and searchable keywords so a shopper can find the feedback that matters to them. Beyond reviews, the loyalty and referral tools reward repeat purchases and word of mouth, quizzes guide shoppers to the right product, and surveys capture first-party data you can use in email. It syndicates reviews to Google and connects to the major email and ad platforms, so the content and data feed the rest of your stack. The trade-off is scope and cost: there is a free tier for small stores, but the features that make Okendo worth choosing sit on the higher paid plans.
Where it shines: Depth. Okendo does reviews as well as anyone, with strong photo and video capture and clean displays, and the loyalty, referral, and quiz tools let you run retention from one platform instead of stitching apps together. It holds one of the highest ratings in its category.
The trade-off: Price and scope. The free and entry tiers are limited, and the loyalty, integrations, and AI features that set it apart live on the higher plans. For a small store that only needs basic reviews, it is more platform than the job requires.
Best fit: Growing and established brands that treat reviews and retention as a core channel, especially ones already running email and paid social. If you want one system for reviews, loyalty, and referrals, it fits.
Before you commit: Map the features to a plan before you sign up. Decide which of reviews, loyalty, quizzes, and referrals you will actually use, because paying for the full suite only pays off if you run more than the review widget.

This figure comes from live detection: we scan Shopify storefronts and read the apps each one runs, then express it as a share of the 3,500,000+ stores in our dataset. It is a share of every store in our dataset, not just recently scanned stores, so it moves more slowly than the month-over-month figures on our trends page. We report what is currently detected, not historical installs or Theme Store / App Store counts.
Independent by design: rankings are determined solely by live detection data. Affiliate relationships never affect what ranks or how stores are counted. Read the full methodology →
