REVIEWS.io is one of the older review platforms on Shopify, built around a single idea most of its competitors have since copied: pull product reviews, merchant reviews, photo and video UGC, SMS review requests, and Q&A into one app rather than one app per surface. Reviews.io the company runs the backend as a standalone review network as well, so stars collected inside a Shopify store can also appear on Google Shopping and other external surfaces without a second subscription.
In the Shopify dataset the app sits inside the top 100 by install count, which puts it in the same adoption band as Judge.me, Loox, Yotpo, and Okendo at the leader end of the reviews category. The install base skews to larger stores: the average catalog on a store running REVIEWS.io is bigger than most apps we track, and the typical app stack around it is larger too, both signals that the merchants reaching for it are past the entry-level setup and want something to grow into.
The all-in-one scope is the reason to pick it. Product reviews, video reviews, SMS collection, in-store reviews, loyalty, and Q&A ship inside one subscription. Merchants who end up stacking Loox for photo UGC plus Judge.me for the free tier plus a separate Q&A app often migrate here specifically to collapse that stack into a single bill and a single review widget.
Catalog size shapes the install base. The average catalog on stores running REVIEWS.io is well above the dataset median, as the panel below shows. That is partly selection, review platforms matter more at scale, and partly fit: the import/export tooling, the bulk-request flows, and the pricing bands are designed around catalogs that would overwhelm a lighter review app.
The stack around it is bigger than average. The merchants here are also running more apps than the typical Shopify store, which lines up with the catalog story: sophisticated ops, more surfaces to collect from, more systems to integrate with. If a store is still deciding between an all-in-one review platform and a stack of single-purpose apps, the stack already in place is the better predictor of which approach will stick.
Theme mix is standard premium-ecom. The install base skews toward Dawn, Prestige, Impact, Focal, Impulse, the same themes used by brands that have already invested in storefront UX. No single vertical theme concentrates here, so the reader should not read the leaderboard as an "industry fit" signal.

This figure comes from live detection: we scan Shopify storefronts and read the apps each one runs, then express it as a share of the 3,500,000+ stores in our dataset. It is a share of every store in our dataset, not just recently scanned stores, so it moves more slowly than the month-over-month figures on our trends page. We report what is currently detected, not historical installs or Theme Store / App Store counts.
Independent by design: rankings are determined solely by live detection data. Affiliate relationships never affect what ranks or how stores are counted. Read the full methodology →
